I created this website with one goal in mind: to provide a resource for the beginner and intermediate powerlifter. For the guy who doesn't know where to begin or needs help picking a program. For the guy who follows Mike Tuchscherer or Mark Rippetoe or Louie Simmons and Westside Barbell, but breaking powerlifting records is a long way off. I am a beginner writing for beginners. I don't have all the answers, obviously. I am still reading and learning what it takes to break records and be great in this sport. I want to add to the existing powerlifting literature-- not replace it. Hopefully, I will convince some of you to stick with it when you're thinking about quitting, or at least help to dispel some of the myths out there about powerlifting. My hope is you can relate with me because I'm not squatting 1,000 pounds.. yet.
One last thing: I will provide advice and information that you may use at your own risk. Obviously, powerlifting is a dangerous sport and I am not there to spot you as you attempt a PR. Be smart about your lifting. Alright, let's get to it.
